Gerald L. Spoto, DDS, PA

Dr. Gerald Spoto is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry. MCV Dental School is among the top schools in the country with an emphasis on clinical solutions. MCV is located in Richmond, Virginia where there is a very large pool of patients to draw from. Students gain great experience in this environment and although one requirement for graduating seniors was completing six crowns on various patients, Dr. Spoto completed seventy-five crowns his senior year and was the only student in his graduating class treating private patients of professors on staff. Indeed, his intense preparation at MCV propelled him into a highly successful career as a cosmetic and reconstructive dentist.

Dr. Spoto is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, West Coast Dental Society and Hillsborough County Dental Association. He has been active in Dental Continuing Education and launched the first joint U.S.-European Dental Continuing Education Program in Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles, followed by a second program one year later. Both programs were done in conjunction with the University of South Florida College of Medicine under direction of Pierre Bouis, M.D., Associate Dean of Medical continuing education. Dr. Spoto has been an active participate in the Children’s Home and Incarnation Catholic School in Tampa, FL for over 30 years and the Homeless Emergency Project (H.E.P.) in Clearwater, FL since 2007.

Susan Douglas – Office Manager/Lead Certified Dental Assistant

Susan attended the Concorde Career Institute for Dental Assisting in Expanded Duties. She has been a part of Pro Spoto Dental since 2004. Susan takes pride in helping transform the most anxious, nervous patients into patients that can get through an appointment by trusting that she will be there for them. Susan enjoys being a part of our team because we are like family. We work together seamlessly which makes the office run smoothly. Susan enjoys spending time with her young son, Jaxson.

Sandy Ford – Receptionist/Insurance Coordinator

Sandy was certified in expanded duties at the University of Florida and St. Petersburg Junior College. She has now been a part of our team for over 30 years. She handles patients’ finances and coordinates insurance. Sandy enjoys being able to talk with our patients. She has been married for 47 years and has 4 beautiful grandchildren. In her spare time, Sandy enjoys baking.
